From an early age; our belief that goodness, art and coffee will heal the world, when we watched the movie Amélie, internalized her magical world, and finally realized that this is the job we need to do after going through all the ways, we decided to open our first cafe in Galata, one of the oldest districts of Istanbul, in 2021, when the pandemic was at its peak.
Never underestimate the impact of art. A movie you watch, a single frame of a photo you take, can give you completely different perspectives, can be an inspiration. We can say that our intertwining with painting, ballet, literature and music, our admiration for the film Amélie, led us to create this concept.
In the film, our main character Amélie Poulain works in a cafe run by a former circus performer in Montmartre. Montmartre Hill is also known as Painters Hill. All the employees in the cafe are unusual characters. They're perfectly reasonable types for people like us who don't like mediocrity. The revival of inanimate beings and photos in the film inspired us to design our Personalized Mugs, which is the main theme of our concept. While our visitors are sipping their coffee, our painters draw the desired picture either on cups or inside thermos mugs. At the same time Coffee portraits that we make using only espresso and granulated coffee, and our Artistic Espressos on which we draw world-famous works, and now we continue to offer service and taste to our guests with our own “Design your Dessert” that we create with our own special dessert varieties and the highest quality Belgian chocolate.
We started employing painters full-time in our first cafe in Galata which is the most beautiful and oldest district of Seven Hill Istanbul, in a location that smells history. Starting from the idea of ” How can we integrate art more into everyday life", we have created a different and unique line, out of spite to everyone's prejudices. Our guests from all over the world still share us, convey their love and longings. Where there is art, there is always kindness, and happiness spreads from there. This is our origin story and now we are continuing our way with 3 branches in Turkei and our Franchise agreements and negotiations in many countries. This journey is long, would you like to join us?
